This course is ideal for anyone wishing to get a SIA Licence & work in the security industry as a door supervisor or security guard. The course is based on up to date SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, this is the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.
Obtaining the Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification will allow you to apply for a SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
With a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence, you are permitted to work in a wide variety of environments. From Static Sites, Retail to working the doors in Bars / Night Clubs.
Security professionals who have a door supervisor licence can also carry out other activities, for example work as security guards, keyholders & Events.

Entry Requirements:
The course requires learners to be able to read, write and understand English. Learners must be aged at least 18 or over and provide 2 x suitable photographic ID prior to the exam.
It is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. Therefore, all candidates will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
The First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.
You will need to present your First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate to DS Education before you start SIA Door Supervisor training.

Self Study


This course includes a self study module, in your Welcome Pack you will receive information on how to access resources and assessments.
You will need a laptop to complete the self study module.
If you do not have access to a laptop please get in touch and let us know and we can book you in to a drop in session where you will be provided a laptop and working area for you to complete your self study.
Also please ensure you complete ACT online training (this is a mandatory requirement) and present your certificates on the day, more information on how to access ACT training will be provided in your welcome pack.
